The leadership Team of Florida Accountable Care Services represents a broad professional spectrum including medicine, healthcare finance, healthcare law, academia and medical/behavioral research, healthcare administration and management, and healthcare IT systems development. Members of the team include:

Sandeep Bajaj, MD—FACS Founder and CEO


    Dr. Bajaj is a Board Certified Internist, Cardiologist, and Interventional Cardiologist.  As an actively practicing cardiologist for over 35 years and the former Chairman of a Medicare Advantage Organization serving roughly 50,000 lives, Dr. Bajaj brings a deep understanding of the importance of accountability, quality, and cost as they relate to the delivery of healthcare.  Dr. Bajaj also serves as the American College of Cardiology Delegate to the Florida Medical Association and has testified before the Florida State Senate numerous times on behalf of Florida physicians and the Florida Medical Association. He is a highly-respected member of the medical community and is very active in numerous community organizations.   Driven by a strong moral compass and an unbridled commitment to and vision for a more efficient and clinically integrated healthcare delivery system, he has successfully developed, implemented and operated numerous healthcare related businesses.  Under his leadership and vision, FACS has realized consistent success and high ranking in the accountable care world, evidenced by millions of dollars of savings to Medicare from the operation of three FACS Medicare Shared Savings Program ACOs, and success and shared savings through the operation of numerous commercial ACOs with major payors in the healthcare system.

Joseph Macau, CPA, CGMA—FACS Chief Financial Officer


Joseph Macau is a Certified Public Accountant, a Chartered Global Management Accountant and holds a bachelor degree in Accounting, Finance and International Business from Indiana University along with a Masters of Business Administration from the University of Miami. He is a results driven Executive with a proven track record of success. Mr. Macau started his career at Price Waterhouse LLP (now PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP) servicing a variety of hospital and health care related clients. He has also held executive positions within, private equity, real estate development, M&A, transportation, technology and financial service companies.  Since joining the FACS team in 2013, Mr. Macau has been the financial leader of FACS. His in-depth business and financial acumen has significantly contributed to FACS highly successful and nationally ranked Medicare and commercial ACOs.  In addition to his dedicated commitment to FACS, Mr. Macau is involved with a number of philanthropic organizations, as well as volunteers as a coach in youth sports and is a member of the AIPCA, FICPA and Financial Executives International.

Ganesh Ramachandran – FACS Vice President


Mr. Ramachandran provides oversight and strategic direction to FACS value-based care and integrated population health programs.  Mr. Ramachandran has over 25 years of experience in the IT industry and possesses extensive and widely heralded expertise regarding the design and operation of Accountable Care Organizations (ACOs), Health Information Exchange (HIE) platforms, Electronic Health Records (EHRs), and the exigencies of interoperability and interfaces of IT systems.     Ganesh possesses a formidable background in business development, project planning, scope management, cost management, quality and time management, that reinforces his position with FACS and the operation of multiple ACOs and related projects.  Ganesh has been a consultant/employee for Nextgen, OmniMD, Convergys, Sprint Wireless, and JTS systems, and has also served as President and Chairman of the Board for many Non Profit Organizations in Central Florida.  He has a BS Degree in Computer Science and Engineering and is also a Certified Oracle DBA.

Vikram J. Saini, JD–FACS Director of Legal Affairs


Vikram Saini serves on the FACS Team as its legal advisor and government liaison.   After graduating with his Juris Doctorate in 2005, Vikram returned to specialize his practice by obtaining a Masters in Health Care Administration in 2010. Since that time Vikram has focused his attention on effectively responding to the varied and extensive legal and compliance ramifications of the shift in the healthcare environment from volume based to value based care, with a strong emphasis on the evolving Accountable Care Organization model.  Highly regarded for his in depth knowledge of the current healthcare landscape, he has been a regularly invited speaker at numerous educational seminars and healthcare industry events.  His knowledge and skills related to provider contracting, coupled with his keen understanding of emerging healthcare legislation and service delivery and reimbursement models has proven monumentally important in FACS success in developing and implementing an integrated clinical delivery system for independent physicians.

Richard Cairl, PHD—FACS VP of Clinical Program Development 


Prior to joining FACS in 2011, Dr. Cairl held several research and academic positions, with publications in the field of gerontology and long term care.  His long-standing dedication to the elderly is evidenced not only by his academic publications, but as well his contributions as a consultant to the development of numerous community based programs for the elderly, and the administrative and clinical operations of several major Medicare Advantage Organizations.  As VP of Clinical Program Development for FACS, Dr. Cairl has taken the lead in the development, coordination, and implementation of several clinical programs and service (e.g., Annual Wellness Visit Program; Commercial Health Risk Assessment Program; Chronic Care Management Program; ER Diversion Program; Transitions of Care Program; Comprehensive Risk Medical Assessment and Risk Stratification Program; MACRA/MIPS Compliance Program) each dedicated to the success of FACS Medicare and commercial ACO efforts.  In addition to these efforts, Dr. Cairl has provided continuous substantive input in a team-based development, implementation, and on-going operation of the robust Health Information Exchange (HIE) platform that enables FACS providers to work together in a clinically integrated network, leading to improved operational efficiencies, the provision of timely and meaningful clinical integration and continuity of care, and overall healthcare cost savings.

Jennifer Silverman, CPC—FACS Vice President of Provider Relations


With more than 20 years of experience as a practice manager in a multi-provider office, Jennifer has brought front-office skills in administration, organization, and communication to FACS since 2013. She is widely known in Central Florida for the breadth and depth of her knowledge in clinical office management, and she serves as a private consultant in efficiency and workflow, MRA, and billing and coding optimization. Jennifer has spoken at healthcare events both large and small, offering engaging presentations that target specific topics in an easily comprehensible and interesting way. She is an AAPC-certified coder and a member of the MicroMD Clinical Advisory Board. Jennifer currently serves FACS in a variety of diverse ways, including MRA education and training, GPRO data collection training, organization of educational events for providers, and the production of training manuals for the FACS community. In addition, she organizes a quarterly seminar for FACS office managers.

Satya Tottappillil—FACS Chief Technology Officer 


Mr. Tottappillil holds a Bachelor degree in Electrical Engineering from Bangalore University, India.  He is an experienced and accomplished Information Technology Leader with exceptional understanding of complex IT support environments and business processes. Prior to joining FACS, Mr. Tottappillil provided IT expertise to several Managed Care Organizations leading critical re-engineering projects to successful completion. He has a thorough understanding of claims data and processing, and is proficient in Project Management methodologies and coordinating efforts with offshore IT Development models. Mr. Tottappillil also serves as Chief Technology Officer for Guardian Health Technology and Guardian Health Services LLC, companies that provided a robust Health Information Exchange platform to FACS.  The platform, under the leadership of Mrs. Tottappillil is state of the art and enables health information to be exchanged electronically between disparate healthcare information entities and systems while ensuring information integrity. These Interoperability and exchange interfaces reflect both the meaning and functionality of the concept of clinical integration and a key driver to the success of FACS ACOs.

William Silverman, DO—CFPT Florida Physicians Trust MSSP ACO Medical Director


Dr. Silverman is a fellow of the American College of Osteopathic Family Physicians (ACOFP), and an AOA board-certified family physician, with a well-established practice in Maitland, Florida.   In additions, Dr. Silverman is a clinical instructor at the Nova Southeastern University College of Osteopathic Medicine in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, and an associate clinical professor at the Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine, School of Pharmacy, in Bradenton, Florida.  He is a past president of the Florida Osteopathic Medical Association and the Florida Society of the ACOFP.  A former captain of the United States Army Reserve, Dr. Silverman served as the officer-in-charge of the health clinic at the Hawthorne (Nevada) Army Ammunition Plant. After earning his osteopathic medical degree from the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine, Dr. Silverman completed an osteopathic rotating internship at Cherry Hill (New Jersey) Medical Center.

Michael Barimo, DO—FPT MSSP ACO Medical Director


 Dr. Michael Barimo a has been in practice since 1987, with 2017 marking 30 years in the Central Florida area. Originally from Miami, he attended the University of Florida, Graduating with Honors with a major in chemistry and zoology. He then attended and graduated from medical school at Midwestern University-Chicago College of Osteopathic Medicine in Chicago, Ill. He then completed a Family Practice Residency at Cook County Hospital in Chicago. He has been Board Certified since 1987. Dr. Barimo’s focus in medical care has been that of Preventative Medicine, assuring that his patients receive the best of care in the areas of Cardiovascular disease Prevention, finding and treating early Hypertension, High Cholesterol, and Diabetes. He also treats all others facets of Family Medicine, including Allergy, Asthma, Gastrointestinal, Musculoskeletal, and Psychological disorders. Dr. Barimo’s hobbies are Karate, Target Shooting, Fishing, Biking and Table Tennis.

Joshua Hagan—FACS IT Specialist


Joshua Hagan is a highly experienced and dedicated Information Technology Service Manager with more than 12 years of experience. He has served the America’s ACO long standing and successful sister MSSP ACOs since 2013 by ensuring the organization’s technical standards are met with excellence. He prides himself on providing face-to-face technical assistance to all of our ACO’s primary care physicians and specialists as well as our team members.
